Less-Resin Moulds
Our "Less-Resin" Moulds make Label/Tube-In Mould casting simple by suspending the tube in the mould making it easy to pour resin around the tube. This also eliminates the need for drilling the pen blanks and is more economical by reducing the amount of resin wasted. Plus to save even more resin we’ve designed these moulds with rounded corners on the bottom. Note if you wish to only cast one blank in the “Less-Resin” mould you can temporarily fill in the centre tab with a small piece of plasticine or modelling clay. Pen kits have various size (diameter and length) tubes, so we offer different moulds with tapered holes to try and cover many of the kits however each mould still has a limited range it can cover. Each cavity is 20mm x 20mm, length varies depending on tubes. We also have a 3 Cavity Sierra/Scirocco and 3 Cavity Bullet/Zeta with smaller 18mm x 18mm cavities and our 4 Cavity Slimline mould with even smaller 16mm x 16mm cavities.
All our silicone Moulds are made using (fully degassed) high quality Addition/Platinum cured Silicone. They feature our hollow plugs which makes removing them simple using a small pair of pliers if needed. Each mould is pressure tested to 70 psi and comes with a full set of plugs. Spare plug sets available from our website. Due to their flexible nature our silicone moulds are easier to de-mould compared to our HDPE moulds.
We would always recommend the use of a suitable mould release to help protect and extend the life of your silicone moulds and plugs, for more information here's a link to our Care And Instruction Sheets.
Note - We have changed over to a new blue addition cure silicone, the majority of our moulds are now blue, but we still have a few of the more expensive pink moulds left which have been reduced in price to match the blue.
